SSYC Tuesday Afternoon Racing

The South Shore Yacht club's Tuesday afternoon racing series is in their fourteenth season. Eleven races are held from June through September with trophies given at the end of the season based upon the best five finishes.

Using a modified PHRF handicap the fleet has a time delayed start for each boat. The order over the finish line is the place you finish. This generates some fun competition during the summer months.

Races start at 1:30pm after a five minute warning horn. The courses range from 6 to qq miles over one of the 10 preset courses that use Hingham and Quincy bay as a venue. With 8 – 10 boats on the line from 26-44 feet there is plenty of racing action each week. Although most of the skippers are retired and the racing is somewhat relaxed there's still plenty of competitive spirit here.
